This week, Class 1BS started to explore the world of Ancient Egypt. The Egyptians had over 2000 Gods and had very firm beliefs about the afterlife. Canopic jars were used to store a person’s organs and then entombed with them. Each jar was represented by a son of Horus. The class made their own jars with clay and they have made a fantastic addition to the Pharaohs display.

In 'Identity' we thought about what superpower we would have having read that each Egyptian God had special powers. We chose our own gift and then made masks creating a character profile that described us.

Finally in cookery we made chicken and garlic pasta and picked  the garlic from the school grounds. The meals were very successful and tasty. It was a good week and an excellent start to the new term.
